New Reads Mondays!

Happy New Reads Monday!

They came to earth—Pestilence, War, Famine, Death—four horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to earth, and they came to end us all.

When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn’s town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed.

Too bad no one told her Pestilence can’t be killed.

Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he’s eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she’s with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her … and hers towards him.

And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she’ll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.

So far I am in love with this book. Right away I was drawn into the story, the thought of one of the horsemen running around and the world slowly dying as the days tick on it sure was an eye-opener. I can’t wait to see what else comes out of the next pages.

Happy National Book Lovers Day!!

Happy National Book Lovers Day!

Of course, we don’t need a national day to talk about how much we love reading, or the newest books we’ve read, or even our continuously growing tbr lists. But, it is nice to see that reading is big enough to be recognized alongside other “national” holidays such as pancake day, hot dog day, boyfriend/girlfriend day and so on. So here’s to all of you readers out there, now…back to reading.

Until next time, Read THS!

Thousands Review

Thousands (Book 4 of Dollar Series) by Pepper Winters

Published: August 2017

E-Book, 300 pages

Stars: 5/5

“Love had been stolen from me for reasons entirely my fault. But then a miracle happened, and Pim gave me something I thought was lost forever. She gave me a love I’d earned. Love that ruined me. Love that made me hopelessly hers…”

Once upon a time, I didn’t think I’d ever be normal.
Now, I’m talking and trusting, and it’s all thanks to Elder.
He gave me my life back, and I gave him my heart, but love stories like ours are never simple.
I did something to protect him.
He did something to survive me.
We screwed up.
And now, it’s no longer just about us.
It’s about safety, sanctuary, and sin.

The Pennies series happens to be one of my favorite series ever. I have seen my share of reviews about the disappointment readers felt from reading Thousands, but I don’t agree. I am so in love with Pim, and Elder the slow build and burn the inner torment they both have to face is so refreshing to me. This isn’t an every day, all of a sudden I can’t resist you love story, they are both struggling to overcome their issues not just for themselves but for each other.

“I knew he loved me before he knew.

He loved me.

I loved him.

I didn’t need anyone else to tell me.

I know.

I trust.

It’s true.

He loves me…

And that was the most incredible thing of all.”

My heart swelled and my eyes wouldn’t stop running, this is one of the moments I have been waiting for this entire series and I can’t wait to read the last book. I am honestly scared of reading the final book, I have invested so much time and emotions into this series that I don’t want it to be over.

New Reads Monday

Welcome back to another, New Reads Monday!

Awakened y Brenda K Davies

Traumatized by her past, and struggling to move on from it, Sera has spent the past three years of college hiding herself from the world and content to stay that way. A chance encounter with Liam shatters her sheltered world, leaving her stunned and shaken by the strange feelings and emotions he arises in her, feelings she never thought she would experience and that frighten her in their intensity. Harboring a dark and deadly secret of his own, Liam knows that he should stay away from Sera; that he will only bring her more hurt, but he is irresistibly drawn to her and unable to deny himself the pleasure that only she can bring to him. But when their pasts collide with their present, and Liam’s true nature is revealed, will their love for each other be enough, or will they be torn apart forever?

I have already begun reading this book, per usual, and I actually remember a great deal about the book. Sometime before my Goodreads account, I may have read this book, or at least started it at some point. I have noticed that I have moments where I stop and think, is this moving to fast but then again it is apart of a series that I believe is 8 books long, and it seems like every book is about a different couple which I have noticed is a pattern of Brenda K. Davies. So far I am enjoying the book, but we’ll see how I think about it when I get to the end.

Until next time be sure to, Read THS!

Happy Monday readers! I haven’t felt motivated to finish any books that I recently started, so like many other readers…I picked up a new book.

Tempted by a Rogue Prince

Goodreads rating: 4.29/5

New York Times and USA Today Best-Selling Paranormal Romance Author Felicity Heaton presents:

Tempted by a Rogue Prince (Eternal Mates Paranormal Romance Series Book 3)
An elf prince on the verge of losing himself to the darkness, Vail is maddened by the forty-two centuries he was under the control of a witch and forced to war with his brother. Now, he roams Hell seeking an escape from his terrible past and the heads of all who bear magic. When demons of the Fifth Realm capture him, he sees a chance to end his existence, but when he wakes in a cell to a beautiful female, he finds not death but his only shot at salvation—his true fated mate.

Captured by the enemy of the Third Realm when the war ended, Rosalind has spent months in the cells of the Fifth Realm with her magic bound, forced to heal the new king’s demon warriors, and haunted by the lives she has taken. When she’s brought to heal an unconscious man, she discovers her only hope of escape has come in the form of her worst nightmare and the first part of a prediction that might spell her doom—a devastatingly handsome and dangerous dark elf prince.

Unwilling to fall under the control of anyone ever again, Vail must escape before the Fifth King can use him as a pawn in a deadly game of revenge, but he cannot leave without Rosalind, the woman who looks at him with dark desire in her stunning eyes and awakens a fierce hunger in his heart. A witch who drives him mad with need even as the darkness within whispers she will enslave him too.

Can Rosalind escape her fate as they embark on a journey fraught with danger and resist the temptation of her rogue elf prince? And can Vail overcome the memories that madden him in order to seize his chance for salvation and the heart of his fated female forever?

Paranormal Romance Books in the Eternal Mates Series
Kissed by a Dark Prince
Claimed by a Demon King
Tempted by a Rogue Prince
Hunted by a Jaguar – coming in 2015

~Goodreads Summary~

Like I said, I haven’t felt the pull to finish any books I have recently started lately, so I started a new book. Tempted by a Rogue Prince is the 3rd book in the Eternal Mates Series, a 15 part series that I probably won’t get through. I loved the first book and was eager to read the second book that left me a little underwhelmed, and so I took a break from the series to look into other books and here I am again.

Until next time, Read THS!

I have been thinking about how I wanted to technically come back and announce my return, again. But, honestly, some life-altering events took place that made everyday life that much harder. I do regret that I couldn’t keep it together and post as usual, but I noticed that my standard day to day activities needed to change and I needed to really think about where I was going, how I was going to get there and start with getting my game plan in place. I’d like to say that I have gotten everything ironed out and that I know exactly where I’m going and how long it is going to take, but I just don’t. This summer was supposed to be my summer to really pump out content, providing reviews, book releases from up and coming authors as well as some of my favorite authors, and weekly get to know me blogs, but it just hasn’t worked out the way I’d planned it. As I reflect on the past month, I just see myself coming up with excuses as to why I wasn’t able to do something I really loved doing, and I know for a fact that I am more than willing to push past whatever issue come my way and attack my dreams head-on. Plus, I’d rather start it sooner rather than later, I have dreams to fulfill, and I’m the only one who can achieve them…so why not start back at it again?

Well, that was my life as is spew, I know we all have issues and problems that arise, and we choose to let them hold us back or push us forward. In this case, I allowed my change of events to postpone what I wanted to do, not on purpose but I let it hold me back none the less. Don’t be like me, be better, push towards your end goal and if you get lost or waiver from it, just know you are human, and it happens. Until next time, be sure to Read TH*S!

New Read Mondays

Hey there THS readers,

This Monday I am actually going back to the last couple of books I haven’t finished. Some I just lost interest in because I felt the author was setting up the story to continue without giving me my happy ending, and who doesn’t love a happy ending, or I wasn’t swept up in the thrill of the story. This week I am going to try my best to push through most of these stories and of course get one step closer to my reading goals.

Wish me luck, until next time be sure to Read THS.

Below you will find three different companies, with one book, the site will be linked, and the authors page will be linked to their names as well, and as promised the synopsis of the story so you can hopefully come to the same conclusion that I have.  Bound by a Dragon by Linda K. Hopkins
What is a dragon without a maiden?

Keira is content in her small, medieval village – well, sort of. Her mother is pressing her to marry, but her suitors are less than desirable. So when handsome Aaron Drake arrives in the village and sets his sights on Keira, she cannot help but be interested.
But Aaron is not the only new arrival in the area – a fire-breathing dragon has also taken up residence in the mountains, not far from the remote alpine castle that Aaron calls home. Keira finds Aaron intriguing, but there is clearly more to him than meets the eye, for why would a man of wealth, intelligence and charm forgo life in the city and choose to live in a remote mountain village, with a dragon as his nearest neighbor?
Awarded the Indie B.R.A.G. Medallion, Bound by a Dragon, the first book in The Dragon Archives, will sweep readers far from the modern world into a world of castles, medieval markets and fantastical romance.

Comicpalooza May 25-27, 2018 Experience

2018 Comicpalooza held in Houston Texas is where I normally spend my Memorial Day weekend, this was my 8th year attending the convention and I can not wait until next years. This year I met and spoke with different authors, actors, and costume designers all wanting to share just how much they love what they do and how they took the chance and went after their dreams.

Orlando Jones and I. He was very pleasant to talk to, had tons of stories to share with us, and constantly had everyone laughing. His stories were out of this world, some of them I would have never in my wildest dreams thought up myself.

Ross Marquand, my mom and I. Super laid back guy, we literally talked about random stuff and also mentioned what movies we’ve yet had time to see, mine being Infinity Wars (don’t start with me, I have my reasons.).

Ruth Carter, the costume designer for Black Panther. We were able to sit in on her panel and boy was it awesome. Very eye opening to hear where she started and how hard she worked to get to where she is. I was able to get her autograph, and take pictures with her, can anyone saw black girl magic? Super inspiring to hear and see Ruth Carters history, and way of thought for the production of Black Panther, and to know that we can all acomplish the same things she has.

My Comicpalooza purchases, all products were signed by the authors, and all authors are new to me. I love trying out new authors and sharing them with all of my readers, hopefully there will be some reviews on these new guys soon.

Hundreds Review

Hundreds (Book 3 Dollar Series) by Pepper Witners

Genre: Dark Romantic Mystery

Published: May 2017

E-book, Pages: 300

Stars: 5/5

“I’m done hurting her. She’s been hurt enough. It’s time I set her free…”

Once upon a time, I wished to go home and forget.
Now, I’m strong and ready to fight.
Seduced and claimed, Elder no longer just demands my voice, he commands me to be a thief like him.
I refuse.
But he offers me things I shouldn’t want, favours I should run from.
In return for his protection, I’m ordered to steal enough pennies and dollars to buy back my freedom.
Only, we both aren’t prepared for how he changes me, evolves me.
It’s my turn to learn about him.
It’s his wish to teach me how to be normal.
Until something goes wrong.
And our life together comes to an end.
Third Book in the USA Today Bestselling Romance, Dollar Series ~Amazon~

Picking up where we last left off, Pim and Elders relationship that’s not really a relationship, but should be a relationship is as rocky as ever. The struggle between the two of them helps keep the readers intrigued.

“Where were you?”
“Where were you!”
“Where. Were. You?!”
And all I could do was sit there with my body inside hers, cold and ruined.
~Pepper Winters~

Pim, although not fully healed mentally or physically has shown growth. Dollars left us in a shaky place, we were all asking ourselves “Will Pim survive this, is this some sort of betrayal?” Throughout Hundreds Pim continues to show her growth, after such a traumatic and earth shattering ending to Dollars everything was surely set-up for a downward spiral. But, Pim shows just how much that last scene helped her grow and push forward with her life, not allowing her past to trap her any longer. As we’ve been shown time and time again Pim is a survivor, a fighter a survivor, stubborn, and strong. So strong that she finally realizes what she must do to save Elder. Pims strength is one for the books, the past 2 years of her life have been horrible, and yet during her healing process she tries to fix Elder. Phenomenal!

“With fingers my fingers tight around the pen, I scrawled my old name, turned new name, turned known identity.
Yours forever, Tasmin.”

Elder Prest, strong, helpful, loving and stubborn. Of all the things Prest has been through, Pim I believe is the most difficult task he has ever given himself. With his pre-existing condition he almost can’t afford to help although he feels it is his responsibility. And yet Elder forces himself to do what he can to help her heal, because we all know he is nothing but a teddy bear that needs love. Elders attraction to Pim is almost magical, because he can see through all of the broken parts of her and see just how strong she already is, and how much stronger she will be.

The love that is brewing between the two of them is a beautiful scene to watch, seeing and being able to read from both perspectives and knowing what they’re both thinking and they’re inner struggles just makes me fall in love with them over and over again.

Happy Monday readers! I have recently started Temporary Bliss, by BJ Harvey

Goodreads rating: 3.81/5

Makenna Lewis cringes at any mention of the word commitment. She doesn’t want or need a relationship, but she does like sex (who doesn’t).

That explains Noah, Sean, and Zander, her three ‘friends with benefits’.

They know the score, they know they’re not the only one, and each of them provide her with a different physical need that she craves and enjoys.

Until a late night encounter with the delicious Daniel Winters turns her preconceived notion of no-commitment completely on its head.

Soon she finds herself feeling things she vowed never to feel again, and when Daniel pushes for more than she’s willing to give, she falters.

What do you do when something that you’ve known to be so wrong in the past feels so damn right?

If you’re Mac, you run and hide.

But is Daniel the type of man who takes no for an answer?

*Disclaimer – There is absolutely no cheating in this book. However, this book does contain descriptive and super hot sex scenes that will make you blush and leave you hot and bothered. Make sure you have your husband, partner, boyfriend or significant other nearby when reading, or else batteries. Lots and lots of batteries*                                                                            ~Goodreads Summary~

I started earlier on my lunch break, and I have to say the first chapter had me questioning the rest of the book. A lot of information was thrown at us within the first chapter of the main characters history and how she basically got to where she is now. But as I continued on to the next couple of chapters that all did change, I am now a little excited to see where this story can take me.

Until next time THS readers, remember to Read THS!

A New Level of Upset

I have been working on this story for a couple of weeks. The last time I opened it to work on it I added about a 500 words, although word count isn’t a big thing for me I was so proud of myself. Today I opened the story to add on to it, and I realized that some how, some way my work did not save from my last entry. I am so heart broken, I could truly cry right now. I thought I knew upset but this is a new level, all of the ides that I had at that random time are just gone, and to be honest I do not fully remember everything I added. I was tempted to close the document and just walk away, but as I write this to you guys my blood is starting to rush and I am getting excited about replacing what I lost as well as what I was wanting to add. I guess I should go ahead and head back over to Word and let my thoughts run wild.
