Happy National Book Lovers Day!!

Happy National Book Lovers Day!

Of course, we don’t need a national day to talk about how much we love reading, or the newest books we’ve read, or even our continuously growing tbr lists. But, it is nice to see that reading is big enough to be recognized alongside other “national” holidays such as pancake day, hot dog day, boyfriend/girlfriend day and so on. So here’s to all of you readers out there, now…back to reading.

Until next time, Read THS!

Free E-book Friday

Hey TH*S readers, it’s Friday!

HyDfNCZlTn5iU.gif

This weeks Free E-book Friday special genre is Fantasy. This week I decided to provide the summary/synopsis along with one book from different vendors, because who doesn’t love free books? I figured giving you all a bunch of books that I’ve read the synopsis on and found interesting, but not providing it for you guys makes it difficult to know if you want to choose the books or not. Below you will find three different companies, with one book, the site will be linked, and the authors page will be linked to their names as well, and as promised the synopsis of the story so you can hopefully come to the same conclusion that I have. Free books, with good summaries do nothing but increase your TBR lists.

Jade Calhoun Series Boxed Set by Deanna Chase
Synopsis
Haunted on Bourbon Street, Witches of Bourbon Street, Demons of Bourbon Street

Book four Angels of Bourbon Street is due out in May of 2013
Haunted on Bourbon Street
Jade loves her new apartment–until a ghost joins her in the shower.
When empath Jade Calhoun moves into an apartment above a strip bar on Bourbon Street, she expects life to get interesting. What she doesn’t count on is making friends with an exotic dancer, attracting a powerful spirit, and developing feelings for Kane, her sexy landlord.
Being an empath has never been easy on Jade’s relationships. It’s no wonder she keeps her gift a secret. But when the ghost moves from spooking Jade to terrorizing Pyper, the dancer, it’s up to Jade to use her unique ability to save her. Except she’ll need Kane’s help–and he’s betrayed her with a secret of his own–to do it. Can she find a way to trust him and herself before Pyper is lost?
Witches of Bourbon Street
Jade Calhoun was never fond of her empath abilities. Now she’s discovered she has another gift she’d rather not unwrap–magic. But when her mentor, Bea, becomes gravely ill and insists Jade’s the only one who can help, she’s forced to embrace her witchy side.
It’s too bad she spent a decade shunning the magical community and never learned to harness her powers. Because time’s run out. A trapped spirit has revealed a clue to Jade’s long-lost mother. The resident angel has gone rogue and disappeared with Jade’s boyfriend, Kane. And if that wasn’t enough, her ex appears to be possessed.
To save any of them, Jade will need to find a way to control her inner white witch–without succumbing to black magic. Otherwise, she’ll lose everything…including her soul.
Demons of Bourbon Street
New Orleans coven leader, Jade Calhoun, is embarking on a Hellish mission. Literally. A week ago her ex sacrificed himself to Hell in order to save Jade’s mother. While he suffers, Jade will stop at nothing to bring him home…even if it means working with Lailah, an angel she’s never trusted.
But the stakes are raised when Jade discovers her boyfriend, Kane, is marked by a demon. The very same one who tried seducing him right before Jade’s eyes. Now Kane’s life is on the line, and consequently, Jade’s soul is compromised. She’ll need all the help she can get, including Lailah’s, as she fights her way through Hell to save her ex and Kane—and her entire existence.

Bound by a Dragon by Linda K. Hopkins
What is a dragon without a maiden?

Keira is content in her small, medieval village – well, sort of. Her mother is pressing her to marry, but her suitors are less than desirable. So when handsome Aaron Drake arrives in the village and sets his sights on Keira, she cannot help but be interested.
But Aaron is not the only new arrival in the area – a fire-breathing dragon has also taken up residence in the mountains, not far from the remote alpine castle that Aaron calls home. Keira finds Aaron intriguing, but there is clearly more to him than meets the eye, for why would a man of wealth, intelligence and charm forgo life in the city and choose to live in a remote mountain village, with a dragon as his nearest neighbor?
Awarded the Indie B.R.A.G. Medallion, Bound by a Dragon, the first book in The Dragon Archives, will sweep readers far from the modern world into a world of castles, medieval markets and fantastical romance.

Comicpalooza May 25-27, 2018 Experience

20180525_1301152471454092776627083.jpg

2018 Comicpalooza held in Houston Texas is where I normally spend my Memorial Day weekend, this was my 8th year attending the convention and I can not wait until next years. This year I met and spoke with different authors, actors, and costume designers all wanting to share just how much they love what they do and how they took the chance and went after their dreams.

Orlando Jones and I. He was very pleasant to talk to, had tons of stories to share with us, and constantly had everyone laughing. His stories were out of this world, some of them I would have never in my wildest dreams thought up myself.

Ross Marquand, my mom and I. Super laid back guy, we literally talked about random stuff and also mentioned what movies we’ve yet had time to see, mine being Infinity Wars (don’t start with me, I have my reasons.).

Ruth Carter, the costume designer for Black Panther. We were able to sit in on her panel and boy was it awesome. Very eye opening to hear where she started and how hard she worked to get to where she is. I was able to get her autograph, and take pictures with her, can anyone saw black girl magic? Super inspiring to hear and see Ruth Carters history, and way of thought for the production of Black Panther, and to know that we can all acomplish the same things she has.

My Comicpalooza purchases, all products were signed by the authors, and all authors are new to me. I love trying out new authors and sharing them with all of my readers, hopefully there will be some reviews on these new guys soon.

New Read Mondays

Happy Mondays!

Hey gang, it’s our favorite day of the week once again…Mondays!

This weeks new read is right up my fantasy ally, with another dragon story. Lately I have been reading a tone of dragon stories, and I have to say I am loving it.

The Dragon’s Temptation

Bookish Talk!
My latest birthday present was a 10′ Kindle, lately I have been reading on my phone, which is big but not big enough obviously. I’m so excited to have all of my reading tools in one space, with a big enough screen to actually see. lol
